What is this place?
Take a hike is built to document my hiking explorations across Switzerland, with hopes it can help others in finding their own.
… and to have a convenient spot to redirect my friends to, when they ask me for a hike recommendation. 🙂
What can you find here?
The hikes will be described by:
- Accompanying photos – so you get an idea of the views you could expect
- Some key technical details – like altitude, ascent, distance, etc. – so you can estimate how demanding it could be
(Note: Time is noted as the one I recorded, without larger breaks – and that depends on you) - GPS details of the route via http://www.wandermap.net/ (where you can export the GPS data), along with my Strava tracking which will not always show correct numbers 🙂
- Some notes that I find relevant (e.g. dog-friendly), as well as if there is any nourishment and (vertical) transport available along the way
Each post hosts a comment section where I will happily answer anything you are curious about related to the specific hike, e.g. alternative/shorter routes.
